LC of Kannur Fort City in collaboration with Palliative care initiative Kannur and ESS club NIFT Kannur organised an awareness program on Palliative care for NIFT students at NIFT Campus. Ln. Prof. O C Manomohan MJF PDG conducted sessions for Students.

Charter Night and New Year celebrations.

LC of Kannur Fort City conducted General body meeting of the month of January as Charter night New Year celebration day at Sahana Auditorium, Melechowa.  Ln. Ganeshan Kaniarakkal PMJF IPDG was the chief guest and Ln. Sooraj MJF ACS was Guest of honor of the occasion. All Charter members been honored in the occasion along with Charter president. IPDG distributed the international pins and awards to IPP and IZC for their excellent performance. Ln. Sushil Kumar and Ln. Jeena Sushil donated Rs. 5000/- to a cancer patient for his treatment as part of club’s service project.  Remembering his contributions to the society, club honored IPDG Ln. Ganeshan Kaniarekkal PMJF in this occasion.  Ln. Sooraj MJF ACS conducted a Drug awareness session for the Lion members and teachers in the club. Along with Guests, Lion members and family, LC of Kannur Fort City celebrated New year 2020 by cutting the new year cake and other entertainment programmes.

LC of Kannur Fort City members participated in the Zone conference organized at Lions Hall at Payyambalam by Zone chairperson Ln. Muhammed Kunhi. Ln. Sunil Kumar presented the club report and president felicitated the program.

Lions Festival – Mayuram (sargasangamam) by District 318e organized at Brannan collage, Dharmadam, Thalesserry. LC of KFC registered and participated in the event.

As hosting club of Paralympics sports for the district, LC of KFC organized a press meeting at Kannur press club and the news appeared in the leading newspapers.

KFC organized its 5^th DB at Royal Omars at 7.00 pm.

LC of Kannur fort city hosted the Paralympic sports for the District 318e at DSC Parade grounds with the help and complete support of DSC centre.  The event was well covered by regional newspapers and T V channels.

District Paralympics sports organized by Lions clubs international Dist – 318e in collaboration with Paralympics Association at DSC parade grounds was hosted by Lions club of Kannur Fort City. The program was well covered in all leading newspapers.

Lions service week (2nd to 8th October)

Lions service week

We have successfully completed our lion service week yesterday. Started with cleaning public place - Payambalam beach, and continued with hunger relief by donating food grains to Thanal charitable society, and given financial aid to pediatric cancer patient through cancer care society. We have conducted 2 blood sugar and blood pressure check up camps, one at Pathiripparambu and the other one at Burnasserry. Kidney function test conducted at Premier English medium school at Burnasserry with the help of Thanal Diagnosis centre, Badakara. LC Kannur Fort City adopted Burnasserry as the global village of our club. As first service project in the GV we have handed over 5 dust bins to the village and distributed books to school children. We have recognized Ln. Capt. Mohanan Nambiar a duty conscious citizen for his contribution in helping under privileged children in and around Kannur District. We gave recognitions to 4 brave widows of War martyrs as Veer nari from Burnasserry area by giving them gifts. In the closing ceremony we had cantonment officiating commandant Lt. Col. D Karamchand as chief guest and Ln. CA Shivaprasad MJF PDG as guest of honor. Wholehearted participation of all LC KFC members made the weeklong programme a successful one. PST thanks all members for their contributions to the Lion service week.

1^st day of the service week LC KFC along with other lions clubs of the region participated in Clean Payyambalam Beach project. Morning 6.30 to 9.00 am club members joined in cleaning activity at Payyambalam beach.

Hunger relief project

Lady lions of FC KFC visited Thanal veedu, near C H Centre, near Padannappalam at 4.30 pm and donated 10 kgs of rice to the organization. Lion Sheeba sunil and Lion Anusree Naveen sponsored the service project.

LC KFC donated Rs 5000/- to Palliative care centre near Mother and child hospital at South bazaar, Kannur at morning 10.30 for pediatric cancer treatment.

Onam celebrations with family get together and General body meeting of the month organized at Sahana Auditorium, Melechowa, Kannur at 8 pm. Different traditional games were organized and prizes were distributed to winners.

LC KFC assembled at Pathiripparambu ground after morning walk celebrated world heart Day. Senior members of LC KFC participated in the meeting.

LC KFC organized a poster making competition among the students of Thunchathacharya Vidyalayam, Edachowa. 20 students participated in the competition. And prizes will be distributed in the school assembly in October.
